Petition on Disrespect to Sikh Turban by Punjab MLAs

Patiala, Sikh Body spearheading global campaign against Turban Ban in France and the petitioner in United Nations on the issue has decided to file a public petition with Punjab Legislative Assembly Committee on Petitions to ensure that the “shameful” incident of pulling down of Sikh-Turbans by “Law-makers turned Law-breakers” is not pushed under the carpet “because of political pushes and pulls.”

Dr. Manjit Singh Randhawa, President of Sikh Nation Organization and Convener of Culture and Heritage Conservation Initiative said here today that when the Global Sikh Community is in a decisive phase of protracted struggle to protect the honour of Sikh-Turban and Five Ks of Khalsa in a number of foreign countries, such an incident by Sikh Legislatures of the land of origin of Sikh Faith is reprehensible.

Sikh Body appealed all Punjab MLAs irrespective of their political affiliation to rise to the occasion to unanimously pass long awaited resolution in the State Assembly to upkeep the honour of Sikh Turban and to legally establish the essential nature of 5Ks of Khalsa as “Articles of Faith of Observance and nor mere Practice.”

Sikh body maintained that Sikh Turban and 5Ks are also the mementos of World’s First Sikh Revolution initiated by Guru Nanak-Guru Gobind Singh that successfully liberated Indian Nation from Mogul tyranny and slavery by making unparallel sacrifices to protect the Honour and Human Rights of the oppressed millions.
